Pastors  and Staff

We are excited about all that God has planned for Restoration Church. It is our prayer that thru Restoration Church you will connect with God through worship, find the joy of serving others, come to know the hope found in Jesus and discover God’s design for your life.

Rick Herald

Lead Pastor

Rick has been a pastor for 28 years, pastoring churches in Kansas City, Kansas, and High Springs, Florida. He came to Springfield, Missouri in 2004. Up until two years ago, he was the pastor of LifeQuest Church, but starting in June of 2017, he joined with long time friend and colleague to co-pastor a new church, Restoration Church.

Rick has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Mid America Nazarene College and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Rick believes that the integration of faith, the truth of God’s Word, and having a better understanding of our life-developing atmosphere and experiences can aid in discovering healing and wholeness of our mind, soul and spirit. This can lead to the restoration of life and hope for the individual and for their relationships.

Rick has been married to his wife, Kelly, for 30 years. They have two adult children. Katie is an elementary school teacher and married to Greg, a Children’s Pastor in Sikeston, Missouri. His son, Jonathan, is a student at Mid America Christian University in Oklahoma City preparing to become a Worship Pastor.
Rick enjoys spending time with his family at the lake and cheering for his beloved KC Royals and Chiefs. Rick’s greatest passion is seeing others come to discover God’s design for every aspect of their lives.

Johnny Phifer

Lead Pastor

Faith was not a part of Johnny’s family or early life on a farm in Arkansas. But at age nineteen, sensing a need for more meaning in life, Johnny accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. From that point, the trajectory of his life changed.

Johnny graduated from Gulf-Coast Bible College, in Houston, Texas, with a BS Ministerial Degree. While in college, he was president of his class, preached in a downtown mission ministry, sang with a music group and preached in a variety of locations. Johnny married his beautiful wife, Leslie, while in college. Together, they have three wonderful sons and daughters-in-law and six amazing grandsons.

Johnny is an ordained minister in the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana. Prior to coming to pastor in Springfield in 2010, other ministries and experiences included: serving as a youth minister, leading state-wide youth ministries and various state-wide boards, leading a ministry of outreach and discipleship, pastoring churches in Oklahoma, Mississippi and in other cities in Missouri.

Johnny’s strong desire is to have an authentic, personal, growing relationship with God, through Jesus Christ and interaction with the Holy Spirit and, in turn, to help others come to faith and maintain a growing, life-changing relationship with God.

Melody Pantuso-Spoon

Director of Children's Ministries

Melody’s story of faith in Christ started as a child as she attended church regularly with her family in Florida. She made a decision to follow Christ as a child and was later called to serve in ministry. Melody was led to attend Central Bible College and received degrees in Missions and Children’s Ministries. She continued her education and received a Master’s degree in counseling at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and in school counseling at Evangel University.

After all of the years in school, Melody has learned that the greatest things are to always love the Lord (put Him first), love your family, and serve people!

Connie Ghan

Administrative Assistant

Connie was raised in a Christian home and gave her life to Christ at a young age. Her parents were very active in their local church and demonstrated to her in their lives a strong commitment to God, the Church and using God-given gifts and talents in serving. She and her husband, Ron, have been married 49 years. They have 3 adult children, 2 wonderful daughters-in-law, a great son-in-law, 8 awesome grandchildren, and 5 amazing great-grandchildren.

While waiting on the adoption of their children, she realized that in order to raise 3 children to know and love Christ, she needed to fully commit her life to a growing relationship with Christ. Her desire is continue to stay green and growing in the Lord.

Connie has been active in the church for most of her adult years serving on praise teams, missions ministry, children’s ministry, and in many other areas of ministry. Connie sees her employment with the church as part of her life’s ministry; serving the Lord, the church and the congregation.
